I'm looking for advice on the best online sem course that would help a recent college graduate pass the AdWords exam.

So far I'm looking at courses that Danny Sullivan posted here: http://blog.searchenginewatch.com/blog/061122-135832.

I'm most interested in the DMA certification course, the Search Engine College course, or SEMPO's online classes. Can anyone give some opinions on which one is the best? Are there any other courses (online or classroom based) that anyone would recommend?

Also, what are the best books, articles, or websites to learn sem?
Thanks

At the risk of repeating myself, the resources at marketingexperiments.com are invaluable beyond just writing adverts that work, it's a treasure trove for info that often has to be paid for.

Also for conversion (which is what it's all about), check out what's online by Bryan Eisenberg.

I would say the learning centre from Google is great and covers everything you'll need to know.

I would recommend that you open your own Adwords account...it doesn't cost you anything and will allow you to get familiar with the system; setup a campaign so you go through all the steps....

Also agreed here. In fact, Watchman, assuming that your reason for wanting to take the exam is to become a Google Advertising Professional, this is actually a requirement. Please see the info below, quoted from this page: http://adwords.google.com/support/select/professionals/bin/answer.py?answer=12241&topic=311

What are the requirements for becoming a Qualified Individual ?
To become a Qualified Individual in the Google Advertising Professionals program, you'll need to accomplish the following:

1. Sign up for the program successfully and be in good standing. This means that you've accepted the Rules of Use and aren't in violation of them.
2. Manage at least one AdWords account (yours or someone else's) in My Client Center for 90 days.
3. Build and maintain at least US$1,000 (or your local currency equivalent) total spend for your or your team's My Client Center account during the 90-day period.
4. Pass the Google Advertising Professional Exam. We suggest that you take the exam after you meet the above requirements. However, you can take the exam at any time.

Please note that you must have met and/or be maintaining all requirements concurrently to become a Qualified Individual. So, if you have not yet passed the Exam by the time you reach the 90-day minimum managed spend requirement, you must still be maintaining that spend level (at least US$1,000 - or your local currency equivalent) when you pass the Exam.
