hi,
i've been looking around for a qualified press release/marketing firm that has the distribution channels into the SEO/webmaster industry. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hey Pixel, seo-pr.com and PRWeb (prwebdirect.com) are the two best known and longest-standing outfits that do what you are seeking, Pixel.

Hi Chris,
I've used PRWeb in the past. I have one question, I was also thinking of using prnewswire.com in addition to prweb.com. Do these two companies have overlapping distribution channels and do I only need to use one or the other, or is it a good idea to use both?
Thank you,
Pixels

geographically it's not important, should hit as much as the globe as possible in the seo/webmaster industry

Sorry to be late to the conversation. I'm with PRWeb and can hopefully answer some of the questions raised in this thread.
First, PRWeb.com vs PRWebDirect.com - Two different ways of getting your press release launched by the same company using the same distribution and optimization mechanisms. PRWebDirect is our "full service" side and as such costs a little more. PRWeb is our "self service" side and as such costs a little less and you are more in control of your launch and setup.
Second, PRWeb vs PR Newswire - Do they overlap? Not much. If the budget allows, it's not a bad thing to use a traditional newswire (read Business Wire, PRN, etc.) in addition to the online distribution of PRWeb. Traditional newswires are focused on reaching the media and as such have a short shelf-life. PRWeb does reach the media but doesn't stop there, continuing on to consumers, bloggers, etc. while never deleting your release (it's churning away for you years later). PRWeb has a partnership with Business Wire that enables you to include their distribution with your PRWeb services. If you have a Business Wire account, selecting the EON (Enhanced Online Network) distribution will include PRWeb services/distribution via your Business Wire account.
Good luck with whichever you choose to use. For the benefit of others reading this thread, it would be great to hear of your initial results and experiences.
