In today's SearchDay, The Gentrification of the Search Industry (http://searchenginewatch.com/searchday/article.php/3625695), Greg Jarboe compares the program of SES NY from 2004 with that of this year's event. He concludes that the industry is changing, much the way working-class neighborhoods become trendy and are taken over by a new class of people.

Have you seen similar things going on that make you think the industry is "crossing the chasm," as it were? Is search really moving out of the early adopter phase? What can old-school search residents do to stay relevant amidst their new neighbors?
