Hello, Ive been coming to this forum for quiet some time to get insight and have yet to become a member until today!

So this may be a question that is asked all the time and if thats the case, can you please direct me to the appropriate thread, appreciate it! Ill be adding in my expertise soon enough.

From an SEO standpoint, when it comes to naming your page titles, the part that shows up in your browser, is it best to use:

company name: keyphrase

or

keyphrase

I appreciate any insight, thanks!

Kelly

Hi kellyreaves99, and welcome to the SEW forums!

Drop the company name, or move it after your keyphrase unless it's a household name and you expect to get a lot of referral traffic from it.

The title tag is the most important element, since some people surf with everything else turned off in their browser. All they see is a list of title tags in their SERP, so you need to be certain that the title makes them want to click on your link.

Also, remember that every page in your site is a unique opportunity to bring in a visitor, so the title should be unique to each page and relevant to the content that is on the page.

Just my 2 cents...

If your brand name is in your URL I would leave it out of the TITLE except perhaps, the homepage TITLE. You may consider the domain name in the description tag. For example "URL.com - URL.com offers..."

Either way, good luck and welcome to SEW!
