I'm seeing a major difference between what AdWords reports show me for
clicks and what Analytics shows for Google CPC visits (approximately equivalent to "clicks") over a specific time period for one of my clients.
In this case, it's 1,985 clicks shown in AdWords but only 22 CPC visits shown in Analytics for the same time period.
I'm getting the CPC visits figure (labeled as "google[cpc]") from the
"CPC vs Organic Conversion" screen under "Search Engine Marketing" in
the "Marketing Optimization" section.
The AdWords campaign is only running in search and not in the content network.
What could explain this? I contacted Google and they gave me a list of possible explanations, none of which satisfactorily explain that large discrepancy.
