ChannelAdvisor and Google Checkout seem to have some kind of arrangement, which results in some strange site layouts.

The domain for the site I'm looking at (which is not ours) is something like "xyz.com". But that's just a frame page. The actual site content is in an off-site frame at "stores.channeladvisor.com/xyz". So it looks like "xyz.com" is just framing someone else's site. Normally, that kills the site's ranking, and, in fact, if I look up "xyz" in Google, the "xyz.com" site doesn't come up on the first page of search.

Yet this is an approved Google Checkout site. Is that the way Google Checkout is supposed to work, redirected through "channeladvisor.com"?

ChannelAdvisor is a software company with solutions designed to make it easier for retailers to sell through on-line channels such as paid search, comparison shopping engines, eBay, Amazon, Overstock, etc. ChannelAdvisor’s solution includes an eCommerce Stores offering designed for SMB sellers. This offering is integrated with Google Checkout, enabling retailers that use ChannelAdvisor Stores for their ecommerce sites to accept Google Checkout as a payment option. Google Checkout can work with various sites and eCommerce store providers. There is no requirement for Google Checkout to redirect through channeladvisor.com.

The fact that the xyz.com domain is not carried throughout the site is a separate issue not related to Google Checkout. In the case you reference, this particular site does not appear to be configured to use a CNAME Redirect to ensure that the domain is consistent (which is possible with ChannelAdvisor Stores). As you suggest, that is not ideal from an organic search perspective but it is something that the owner of this site has elected to do.
