Not sure if this is the right sub-forum, but I can't find anywhere more on-topic so here goes. I am having a hard time finding out why my blog disappeared from Google Blog Search about 2 months ago.
I publish a blog about topic X, and it is one of the best blogs around on this topic. By that I mean that although all kinds of bloggers mention this topic from time to time, I have religiously published this blog every business day for months. I started it about 7 months ago, publishing sporadically, and now for 3 or 4 months I have been publishing daily. I can think of only one other blog on the internet that covers this topic on a daily basis.
Up until January 12 of 2007, I was getting excellent rankings in Google Blog Search. Then, inexplicably, it vanished like a stone from the index. This happened even though I was now a daily blog.
Did I do anything to cause this? The only change I can think of is that some time ago, I changed one word in the title of the blog, to avoid getting confused with a different topic. Purely an editorial change. It did not seem to me that this could cause me to be dropped from the index. Thinking this was the reason, I changed the title back to the original on 3/22/07, but it does not appear to have made a difference. My blog is no longer in the index, despite being one of the 2 or 3 best blogs on the topic.
Google Blog Search Support has not responded. Any suggestions or insights would be most appreciated.
