How does one set up their own search engine that picks up info from dmoz and PPC advertisements. Basically, create a search engine with a personalized template that searches current web directories and includes things such as adsense so you get paid when someone clicks on a result of the search engine.

actually what i meant is how do i create a directory that can take the DMOZ trash to fill the directory with specific categories and then add in ppc results as well. i think that is a reasonable request :D

I think what Nacho is trying to say is that it's really not that difficult: Hire a couple of experienced engineers, throw in a couple of millions and there you go! :)
There are some scripts around that can do almost what you want, but the ones I've seen is not very good, slow, not doing a very good job at ranking pages, are not made for heavy leads etc. I believe ODP actually have a category that collect all such scripts

So you are saying that you want to be one of the countless Dmoz clones out there and then run adsense on it?

I'd be surprised if anyone thought that a PPC engine running on DMOZ would be an attractive and profitable venture to invest in.
