ok,
have started a new site and have had a real bad start in terms of getting indexed to begin with.
Shortly after launching the site, I installed a product called linkfreeze (http://www.helicontech.com/linkfreeze/) , which basically makes my dynamic pages look static by replacing characters in the url.
Now, it was about 5 days after i launched the site that i installed link freeze, and i knew i had to do this quickly because i didn't want Google to index my old pages (since pages ending in .aspx are now ending in .html)
ok, so after installing link freeze i created a site map, and made sure all pages in the site map were correct an ended in .html - then patiently waited for my pages to be indexed. About 2 weeks later i was alarmed to see the site being indexed with around 150 pages returning errors, and when i took a close look Google was looking for pages ending in .aspx
I'm not sure how Google should know about these pages? One guess is Google started indexing my site real early, but i don't think so as I have 0 inbound links and didn't upload the site map till after installing link freeze.
Now the other thing about this is there are some pages that are indexed with the correct html extension, and these can be found in searches. Why are some indexed and some not?
What I would like to know is will everything fix itself? When Google re-indexes again will the errors disappear? Or is there something else that i need to fix?
Thanks for your time.
