Hi,

I've been building my sports site and really want to start promoting. However, I've ran into one problem and would like for your input.

See my site is a sports human directory for links, forums and site reviews.
My goal was to break each page down- Example: My baseball directory page consists of baseball links, baseball forums and baseball site reviews.

I've noticed I am very well ranked on yahoo, wisenut.com and a few others using the keyword phrase 'baseball directory.' However, I am not ranked with this same keyword phrase on google.

My questions are as follow:

1. What can I do to improve my rankings to get listed under the keywords(phrases) of: sports, sports directory, directory, sports links, links, baseball, baseball directory, baseball links, basketball directory, basketball links, basketball, sports cards, cards, search engine, site reviews, sports site reviews.......

2.Should my home page include the keywords as all of the above? Then when a visitor clicks on my baseball directory page, that page would have the keywords of: baseball, baseball directory, directory, links, baseball links, forums, baseball forums, baseball cards, baseball camps and etc?

3. Any suggestions to maybe re-designing my layout to get much better under these keywords(phrases)?

My goal is to make this the best sports directory online. I'd like a place where people can find sports links, site reviews, post their wanted lists and soon I'd like to add an all sports search engine page.......

Your help is very much appreciated. My AIM screennames are- Bigcool23 and RazSports.

If you're ranking really well on the others then I'd leave well enough alone and try adding some factors that might help with Google that won't change the site layout.

First thing, get some inbound links to the page using the keywords in the anchor text of the link, whether it's from other sites or from within your own site is fine, too. If your current on-page has you ranking well except at Google, chances are it's a matter of lacking the right links. Also make sure the keyword is included in at least some of the outbound links on your page.

Question: is it baseball directory or baseball directories that you want to rank for?

Hi Marcia,

Thanks for responding. My site is an all sports directory for links, forums and reviews. I broke down each directory into sports.

Example: the baseball directory page comes with it's own baseball links section to related baseball sites. Also the baseball directory page has links to my baseball forums and reviews.

The same is said to my basketball directory page.

So for my baseball directory page I'd like to be ranked well under the keyworss of: baseball, baseball directory, links, baseball links, forums, baseball forums, baseball reviews and reviews.

For my baseball links page I'd like to be ranked under the keywords of: baseball links, links and baseball.

Then if you click my baseball cards links page, I'd like to be ranked well under baseball, baseball cards, baseball cards links, links and cards.

You can visit my site at: http://www.raz-sports.com , to get my idea :)

Thanks,
Rob
