nofollow is generally applied to links, rather than pages. there is a nofollow meta tag you can also use, and both Yahoo will treat it the same as the nofollow link attribute, as covered here:
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/ysearch/slurp/slurp-12.html
I think Google may treat the tag as putting nofollow on all links as well. Not sure about Microsoft.
Should have no impact on your ranking.

i heard that linking affiliates to my site might hurt, but if you add a nofollow it proves to google/yahoo that you're selling your product not trying to get more inbound links? is this accurate, and bottomline, would you recommend me putting nofollow on all my affiliates links coming into my site?
thanks

Yes this is accurate. Put this into your link:rel="nofollow"For example:<a href="http://www.site-you-are-linking-to.com/" rel="nofollow">Site You Are Linking To</a>

Does Yahoo and MSN read this nofollow tag? Or do they ignore it?
