Hi everybody,

a few days ago I found the site http://www.adlog24.com. It`s a tool that counts the number of homepage visitors generated by online advertising. No logfile analysis is needed. It’s free, AFAIK. I wanted to ask if anybody‘s had experiences with it and knows how it works exactly...? Seems to be a handy program, after all.

Thanks!

Hi Solaris.

That site's not working at the moment and I haven't actually used the tool, but I was able to read through some of Google's cache.

If you change only the URLs in the PPC engines, and not any code on your website, that means the URLs must point directly to them (no longer to you) so they can count the traffic before re-directing to you (you hope).

What do they get by giving this away for free? Well, first crack at whatever traffic you're buying for starters. Assuming every click gets forwarded back to you with no "funny business" in between, then they just get a lot of data about your business strategies.

Either way, seems to me like a lot of risk for some pie charts.

Using a tool to analyze your own log files really isn't that bad and like the guy on TV says "very, very, very rewarding". ;)
