Search Engine Marketer
Search engine marketing, and specifically search engine optimization, is your playground. If you can consistently achieve first-page rankings in the major search engines, cultivate inbound link strategies, and find your way around an analytics tool, you might have just what it takes to become our resident optimizer.
Responsibilities:
* Perform search engine optimization audits for our clients
* Develop and deliver optimization strategies based on SEO audits
* Improve the SERP rankings of our client’s sites
* Follow “white hat” SEO practices
* Develop keyword guidelines for copywriters
* Deliver regular SEO reports to clients
* Develop and recommend new search engine marketing strategies
* Work closely with our online marketing and analytics team - experience with Google Adwords, Yahoo! Search Marketing and MSN AdCenter is a definite asset
Requirements
* An expert understanding of each facet of search engine optimization
* 3+ years of hands-on experience with search engine optimization
* Knowledge of blog-specific optimization techniques, especially with WordPress and FeedBurner
* Ability to perform “social media optimization” using del.icio.us, digg, YouTube, or any of the dozens of other similar services
* Down with the Web 2.0 lingo – you can spell taxonomy, folksonomy, tagging, blogging, sharing, swarming, etc., etc., and all the other new words we’re hearing every day
* Working knowledge of tools like Trellian Keyword Discovery, Wordtracker or Web Position Gold
* A general competency in website development, with an ability to hand-code XHTML and CSS
