Guys,
Real misery. Google has started ranking my new website for several keywords but since 1 week for all those keywords my ranking cannot be found in SERPs. I am really annoyed.

Please suggest any me how I can regain my rankings. Also it has been more than 3 months since I launch my website but no page rank has been assigned yet. Does anyone know when that will happen.

Has Google recently updated its algorithms?

You may be experiencing what is known as the Google Sandbox, where because you site is so young, it has to play in the sanbox with the other kids while the grownups are out drinking and having a good time.

basically, you can't rank yet.

What you need in order to get out of the sandbox is links from highly trusted sites.

Links from directories (with exception to dmoz) won't do it. Links from articles, (unless they are featured on trusted websites) won't do it. Link exchanges won't do it.

You need to:
a: wait until google trusts you (approx 9 months total)
b: get some kick-ass links. (this usually takes industry connections, or a really superb article written by you)
c: links from trusted blogs are your best bet. You need to build a relationship with some bloggers in your industry, send some traffic their way or offer them the world's greatest content for their industry.

As far as your page rank... I think the last update was in september or something, and the next one is predicted for january. Not sure. But page rank is assigned at a much more leisurely pace than indexing.

Is it really 9 months ? I think it is less than this (~3 months) if you achieve some quality inbound links.

I'll agree with three months if you grab up some quality IBLs. But what I was saying there is that if you're not actively link building, it can take up to 9 months.

I have got quality link backs from good blogs, ezine articles, forums etc.

Recently, I did get link back from netscape.com which really helped my site rank for all keywords.

but unfortunately netscape isn't showing my link anywhere now and since then my website has seen downfall in ranking.

as far as link back is concerned i have got lots. dono how sandbox affects my site.
