Search Market & Keyword Suggestion Tool Predictions
Hello folks lets start with clearing the fog around keyword research tools. Before moving into the foggy climate, have a look beneath on the search market of July 2006.
Google captured the 43.7% market which also includes goolgle's other services i.e. Google.com or Google Image Search.
Yahoo captured 28.8% of the search market including the search of Alltheweb, Altavista and Overture.
MSN captured 12.8% of the market.
AOL captured 5.9% of the market including AOL search & Netscape Search.
Ask captured 5.4% of the market including Excite, iWon, MyWay.com and My Web Search.
Others captured 3.4% of the market.
Well thanks to Search Engine Watch providing this exclusive information. I want you guys to focus on 3.4% market, who is the shareholders of this market, my gr8 interest is to find these shareholders.
Let pause this market search topic now I will back to it, now move to dig the keyword suggestion tools.
"Keyword Suggestion tools help to identify the current trends of keywords / key phrases, most of the tool shows predicted results based on their databases."
We will cover here two most popular keyword suggestion tools i.e. Overture and Wordtracker.
Overture: Overture's keyword suggestion tool is a great tool that keeps Overture (or Yahoo Search Marketing) on your mind. Yeah, some may not use Overture for their Pay-Per-Click marketing (Yahoo Search Marketing as is the proper name now), but still people use this Tool because it is easy and free. Let's look under the hood of this tool. Overture does get a good number of searches per day, if you look into the back then you will find they received 167 million searches per day(thanks to search engine watch again here ) and were appealing competitive with Google at the time. The beauty of overture suggestion is, it divides search popularity regionally.
Overture gets its information from searches done at the search engine itself and bases the data for its keyword count over the 30 days prior to the month you would may be searching in. We are unsure of the actual size that the 30-days of database covers, but we can assume it's somewhat sizeable since it produces counts way higher than other keyword sources.
Bold point to be noted here, it means Overture gives us prediction from its 28.8% search market. This 28.8% market is further divided into its two services.
Wordtracker :
One of the fantastic tool and the keyword prediction market capturer. I really love this tool. Wordtracker shows Count, Predict and KEI of keywords / key phrases. Wordtarcker's count results are way more accurate when it comes to gauging what kind of traffic we may receive when ranking for a specific keywords. I also know that I'm getting the MOST recent data about the hottest keywords covered over the past 100 days. The one thing to be noted here is distinctively different about wordtracker is that it's keyword database is made up of two search engines that are Meta Search engines. Good thing about these metacrawler search engines is these are not PPC search engines like Yahoo Search Marketing so the they have very few automated queries.
Wordtracker pull logs from two search engines known as DogPile.com and MetaCrawler.com, both Meta search engines.
I feel Wordtracker is seasonally sick, it works on two months data prediction. For example I am a umbrella manufacturer I am looking for keywords related to my product becoz it's a rainy season. With the current scenario I can get the results related to umbrella in winter which obviously I don't want ļ.
Bold point to be noted here again, Wordtracker depends on dogpile and metacrawler they comes into the 3.4% share region but there are lot of other search engine's claims for this so it is quite tedious to get the exact share market of dogpile and meta crawler out of this 3.4% .
According to search engine watch the 2005 search market show 0.9% search market of Info Space (Owner of dogpile and Meta crawler).
I would certain like to see the demographics of their users and the total search count as distributed over the entire globe.
If I say about the Asian specific search then I don't think that I will get the prominent results.
Cheers
