Hello,

Im really new to this so I hope someone can help.

I have a website the main products on which are only available to the UK however other items are available worldwide... I bought the .com domain first so I built the site and hosted it for this domain, however later I had a chance to get the .co.uk now im a little stuck...

I basically have two mobile phone websites both of which have different domain names, nokiafx.net, the old site... www.nokiafx.com the slightly newer site... the nokiafx.co.uk is a free url direct to the .com using the free service by the domain registration company.

www.mobilephonefx.com is the latest site, the mobilephonefx.co.uk and .net are both redirected to the .com

Ok anyway this is the problem now im stuck how I can get local results on google and other search engines, any help would be grately appreciated :(

The options I can think of...
a, Copy/Mirror MobilePhoneFX.com onto the .co.uk domain
b, Add UK and United Kingdom to website meta tags and everywhere else on site, dont know if this has any relevance or if adding links to other companies just in the UK???
c, Start all over again delete all sites, build on the .co.uk domains and redirect all others to these :(
d, An option D would be very much appreciated :D

No matter what I think of or what I do I cant get my pagerank up or get listed better :( is pagerank better or easier to get in one country rather than worldwide if that makes any sense???

Also do hyperlinks in iframes get counted towards pagerank??? I have a free nokia unlocker anyone can add to their website using a simple iframe, inside the loaded page this displays a hyperlink, although the iframe is on other peoples websites, technically the script generating the contents of the frame are on my own site???

Again thank you for reading this and any help anyone might provide, would really welcome any criticism on the sites or comments

Forgot to add is a service like the following worth using for UK listings as its a US site http://www.enter-url.com/

Sorry if this is in the wrong section

1. To the best of knowledge, hyperlinks inside iframes do not count, because they are not actually present in the source code. I may be wrong, but that's what logic would tell me.

2. I wouldn't redirect your .co.uk-s. I would optimize each sitefor the locality for which it is targeted, and focus on link building for both sites. Focus one domain on phones in the uk. focus one for the us

I wouldn't mirror the sites. Duplicate content will kill one of them. I would make them similar as to their look and feel, but the content for each should be different.

3. Try signing the uk site up for hosting with a uk based hosting company, and the .com with an american one. I've heard good things about that.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply...

1, I dont know what to do now about the links in the iframes now :( I built it this way because I wanted everyone to be able to add it to their site, quickly and easily whilst still keeping the code on my own site, I also didnt want anyone to remove the links or modify the calculator :(

2, I could have hosting for both .com and .co.uk would be a bit difficult for me to have content for the US or outside of the UK, the logos, ringtones and other mobile media do work in other countries however the major product (i.e Mobile Phones) are only available to the UK :( I would have to work to double promote both sites (or all 4), would having the words UK or United Kingdom in the meta tag keywords have any impact on local google search results please??? Is pagerank effected by local results, im trying to get my head around the whole concept and im having a few problems understanding this whole thing :( e.g would a global page rank for google of 1 be 2 for just the UK??? or does that not matter. If I have links to my site on UK sites on the .com domain would this be picked up on the local search or does it not work like, so if I just wanted to focus for the UK should I aim for just getting links from .co.uk UK websites or all websites? Im really sorry for all the questions, i am a software engineer by trade but I dont really do marketting and im new to search engine stuff

3, The .com is currently hosted on a UK hosting company should this be moved to a US host?

4, Why cant search engines deliver Local results depending on something else other than the name of the domain? e.g a Country Meta tag or something like that???

5, I have added my links to some other sites, which are supposed to be ranked much better than mine, however these links dont show up when checking on search engines for who links to me, is this just because they havent been crawled in the last 2 weeks and would it help if I suggest these other sites to Google, lol ??? or can I get someone elses site to be crawled again
