SEO with OsCommerce

Hello Friends

I am doing some SEO Task with OsCommerce

I face lot of problem with that cart like session ID at end of url so i heard on Oscommerce forum that we can remove it by changing some setting from Control Panel and It works also now my url not showing Session Id at then end

I submited sitemap.xml before that to google and also submit new sitemap.xml file to google without session id at end of url but in google index there is still old pages with session id so can you plz guide me that how to remove that old pages (I submited New sitemap.xml since last 10 days)

and also if you know more about OsCommerce SEO then it will be very helpful for me

plz. guide me about this

Seems like you are following the right steps.... you could put 301 redirects for Google to point to the new pages if you want to go to the work... otherwise give it awhile... SEO is not an overnight thing.

Can you plz explain me what is that 301 Redirects ?
I dont know much about that

A 301 redirect is code you put on your htaccess page or in the head tag of a page that instructs any computer loading the page to change the request and grab another page instead.

I've done a lot of optimization with OS Commerce. What you'll need to do is change the URLs so that they are more search engine friendly, which is fairly easy to do. There are "plugins" for that and modifications available.

Also, you may want to edit your template so that it includes those "search engine friendly" links.

Setting up 301s are pretty much the standard thing to do whenever you change URLs. Don't forget about submitting the pages/products to Google Base.
