View Full Version : Recent Jupiter Report Numbers

Recent projections for Search Engine spending for 2004 and beyond seem a little conservative to me. Jupiter suggest $2.6 billion for 2004... since Google did about $1.1 last year and is on track to do $1.6 or more by themselves... does that really mean that the rest of the industry really has less than 40% of the market?
Personally I see search engine spending going closer to $3.5 billion or more this year (are we also counting the niched engines - even the adult ones?).
If the adult industry is spending 15% of their gross income on search marketing then there is $1.2 billion plus right there.
Get true numbers from the casinoes and I think the projected numbers may have to be readjusted.

I assume Jupiter is getting their numbers from public filings, I would agree with you that it must be higher than they have stated. Another interesting question is how much of this $$$ spend is fraud related????

I think fraud numbers account for say 10% of spends across all engines.
