Does use of XML affect the indexation process?

Hello there,
First of all please excuse my english. I'm planning a development on one of my websites. I want to make use of the XML advantages. Does anybody know if this will affect the way Google indexes the webpages?

Make it look like a blog, provide your content in RSS, RSS2, and atom format, and submit it to blog directories. This will give a boost to your site.
