I've used Web Trends in the past but not from an SEO/SEM perspective...more for internal benchmarks analysis.

But I wanted to ask everyone's preference on Web Analytics Software...and why they choose to go with a specific one.

I've been using Google Analytics for SEO/SEM purposes but only b/c its the most cost-effective right now. I'm wanting to eventually standardize on one platform, one that gives the best ROI and is intuitive to display info to clients.

On the table is:

- Google Analytics
- ClickTracks
- Web Trends

Voted for ClickTracks, since that 's giving me more deep insights about my visitors and thus making me confident each day while preparing the action plans...

Google Analytics is also a damn good service which is really on the top by the Free offer they give. There are plenty of cool advanced reports we can dig through GA - a little hidden for the first glance - but there are some disadvantages also.

Like if you notice, GA reports a lesser number than other Analytics tools, due to the difference in terminologies and technology they use.

But my second choice will be Google Analytics only...

To be honest I love the fact that GA is free. I think is a great innovation and it brings analytics back to earth.

It started to get a little prohibiting for small business owners.

Plus, I really liked to use Urchin before GA existed.
