This link gets you the Most Active Threads in the last 24 hrs:
http://forums.searchenginewatch.com/search.php?do=getdaily
Hopefully this complements the New Posts feature. Enjoy!

Is there a way to see "Today's Posts" without being logged out?
I can see the "New Posts" link when logged in, but that doesn't always tell me what I want. If I log out, I can see all of "today's posts" which comes in handy.
Would be nice to put that there for logged in users too, unless it's somewhere and I'm missing it.

Just wanted to bump this thread up as a reminder to everyone. If you are logged in, the New Posts link at the top of the page lets you see the latest posts since your last visit. However, sometimes glitches may cause the system to lose track of what you've last seen.
In that case, the http://forums.searchenginewatch.com/search.php?do=getdaily command that Nacho mentioned above will show you posts from around the last 24 hours. I find it a useful way to stay caught up, if for some reason New Posts doesn't bring back everything.
By the way, you can also get to the forums through the shorthand address of http://forums.sewatch.com. That will redirect you over here and save a few keystrokes. http://blog.sewatch.com takes you to the SEW Blog, and http://sewatch.com takes you to the SEW home page.

Why not put the "today's posts" link for those who are logged in?
I have actually found a work around I've been meaning to mention. I go to the home page logged in, and instead of logging out, I right click and view Google's cache of the page. Then I get to see the "today's posts" link, and voila! :)

Jill, you're whatever level it's called after being "expert". :)
Thanks for the tip!

Perhaps I'm missing it but I can't find one. Is there any chance of a 'recent posts' type button?.
New Posts is great until you start reading down what looked like an interesting list and get distracted, only to find your session's expired when you come back

I second this... the way New Posts is set up is driving me crazy. Ditto with Subscribed Threads. I'd like to be able to have some sort of manual control over clearing the unread indicators.
Right now, monitoring new topics requires a monolithic chunk of attention, not always convenient.

Apparently if you are logged out, the todays post link appears.
It would be handy if it was there at all times, logged in or not.

OK, I've asked the developers to add a Today's Posts link next to the New Posts link you already see. It glitches for me on occasion, as well when my session expires, so this should help. Hopefully we'll see it up shortly. In the meantime, bookmark that URL. I also merged recent posts on this topic with a past thread.
Robert, can you start a new thread and explain the problem you're having with subscribed threads? I don't use the feature much, depending instead on monitoring new posts. So it would help to know more.
FYI, we do have an RSS feed that tells you any time a new thread is created. It's in the left-nav. We're also working on having it so you can have an RSS feed of new posts in any thread you want to subscribe to.
forums.sewatch.com is a great shortcut - good to know.
Already today I've visited forums.serachenginewatch.com by mistake and landed on some parked domain chock full of PPC links.

thank you, that's so much nicer :D
I changed my subscribed threads to not receive an e-mail earlier btw and I'm still getting them....but that's really no big deal in comparison to having a shiny new 'todays posts' button to play with.

I know this is a repeat of the previous post, but I've been using "Today's Posts" all day and I really, really like it!
Please don't let it fall by the wayside in any future updates - I stop in here every 15 minutes or so on many days between 8am and midnight and the "New Posts" thing just doesn't cut it.
Thanks again :D

Me too. My old Firefox keyword "SEW" was for forums.searchenginewatch.com, but I switched it over to forums.searchenginewatch.com...php?do=getdaily
