There is noone who can help you.
The only thing you or anybody else can do is suggest the site (which you have already done). Somewhen from there the suggestion will be looked at by an editor. We (the DMOZ editors) can not predict when this will happen. Could be tomorrow, could be next week, could be next month, could be next year, could even take longer.

I have also tried to get listed on DMOZ, and have resigned to the fact that it's bloody hard.

I for one am going to focus on creating better site content, and also becoming an editor, which will probably take less time!

The only thing you can with DMOZ is to make sure your site meets its requirements, carefully read the instructions and submit to the most relevant category.

Then sit back and wait.

Resist the temptation to resubmit as the new submission wipes out the old submission date and changes it to the most current submission date. So, if an editor works by "date submitted" you've just moved your site further down the queue.

Done a bunch of research into this...and the only thing I can find out is that it's nearly impossible. I even attempted to become an editor 3 times and got shot down each time.

Here's something to entertain...or try:

Good luck...

Do not ever try to offer money to an editor. As I told you in a PM, after you asked if there is such an option, there is no option to pay for a listing. Trying to pay an editor is seen as bribery and you and all your sites will be banned from DMOZ for ever. And if an editor ever takes a bribe he will be removed and all sites listed by him will be researched and when proven involved in the bribe they will be removed with a ban.

The site of that so called "corrupteditor" is old and most probably a fake.

If you want to know more about Submission details in Dmoz, you can visit the Dmoz forum http://www.resource-zone.com/forum/ where many of the editors reply to your posts.

You can get valuable information about submissions to Dmoz and other questions about Dmoz here.

Done a bunch of research into this...Not enough apparently if all you came up with was the old corruptdmoz.com drivel.

I have also tried unsuccessfully - I figured DMOZ does not list web logs- however does it include companies with poor site content ?

Dmoz does accept weblogs, so long as they have unique content about the topic for which they are purported to be covering. Not sure what you mean by however does it include companies with poor site content ?Depends on the definition of content. Content to an editor reviewing a company's website=who are they, what do they have to sell me, where are they located, how do I contact them, and how much is it gonna cost me.

Is it worth it trying again after 6 months or so

My original content is not unique on the net since I have to syndicate articles.

hmm strange, just got a notification of this topic reply but says it was from Novemeber? It wouldn't hurt anything to suggest it once to the most appropriate category, I wouldn't think. I don't know what "worth" you are putting on it though. As at best its accepted and becomes another link and at worst it isn't suitable for DMOZ and is rejected.
If all your content is syndicated articles commonly found elsewhere the chances of it being included I would say are probably pretty slim though. DMOZ looks for original unique content about the subject or author of the site. So if all (or most) of the content is copies from other websources chances are they won't find it very unique. Still it shouldn't cause any problems to suggest it one more time to the proper category. Of course since the site suggestions are still turned off, it will have to wait until things return to normal. Sorry if this is an old reply, not quite sure why my email just picked up the reply notification.????

not quite sure why my email just picked up the reply notification.???? Usually it means someone replied to the thread and you were notified by email ...HOWEVER, it might have been spam or something against forum guidelines and a mod or admin deleted the message before you could see it.

Thanks birdie for the heads up. Strange it was exactly the post above :) Guess if it was a deleted post it would make since for the notification to come through with the last post to the thread. Of course I apparently didn't get the notification of this post back in Nov. or would have replied earlier.:D

I have a different DMOZ issues, perhaps someone here would care to help. My site is listed in DMOZ (http://search.dmoz.org/cgi-bin/search?search=flowerhaus), yet running backlink tools like SEOmoz's one shows that the site is not recognized as having a DMOZ link.

Hmmm....it sure would be nice to pick up that backlink.

Doesn't seem a DMOZ issue to me.
It is a SEOmoz issue.
