Last year, there was some noise made about developing vertical search engines i.e. search engines that search niches like IT, health, business.

More than a year on, there didn't seem to be much further development in this area until i heard that Reed were developing a search called ZIBB for the UK market - www.zibb.com/
Is this a dumb thing to do or one of a number of so-called vertical searches that are on their way?
