Here is the thing one of my client has 6 different products and him being very wise creatd 5 different domains and I just found out that all of them have the same IP addresses ... do you think Search Engine might not like it ... I am not sure hoe SE treats different domain which has the same IP ... as for the content its some what differnt, since its the same company there are some similarity too ... Should I ask them to get differnt IP address for each domain or it really doesnot matter ...

Having same ip hardly matters to Google, if you have different domains you just not need to go for different ip address.
As far as i think and i am sure you will agree with me that SEO is all about optimizing the website not changing the IP address.

It is about optimizing the website ... which include looking at the backend also and I consider IPs as a part of it ...

Ok ... it depends on what you're doing. Google doesn't care about the IP but they do start caring about it if they think that you're doing some black hat stuff using your other sites. Also consider duplicate content.
If their algo spots that, they can easily use your WhoIs info for IP. I wrote an article about here http://www.bizmord.com/Blog/archives/116
Hope this helps.

I believe that different ip matters a lot if you want to build up a network of website. OTherwise, if the different domains don't have any relation, linking and traffic exchange i would not matter if they have same ip

Exactly, IP addresses only come into play with regard to linking and association.
Many of the smaller hosting companies run all the sites from a single IP including the one I ran during my student years.
