We are a North Dallas, Texas multi-channel retailer that is experiencing continual growth and expansion. We are in the process of bringing our Search Engine Marketing functions in house and we are looking for the right person to build a team around. If your passion is Search Engine Marketing, we are looking to support our growth with a key individual that wants to make a difference.

The SEM Expert will drive our organization to ensure that our sites are continually optimized for search engines. You will also work closely with IT architects and Customer Experience designers to manage technical optimization efforts as well as content evolution. The SEM Expert will look for opportunities to optimize our sites as part of new and ongoing initiatives. The SEM Expert will serve as a visible subject matter expert and knowledge leader in Search Engine best practices.

Responsibilities include:

SEM Strategy

Lead the development and execution of the internal SEM strategy
Provide risk/reward models for Search Engine recommendations
Ensure fiscal responsibility by budgeting and ROI
Responsible for understanding the best practices and industry standards for search engine optimization and search engine marketing.
Gather data and report on paid search (PPC / CPC) and organic search campaigns
Generate and analyze competitor information


Search Engine Optimizations (SEO Activities)

Must be proactive in identifying and executing against opportunities to increase traffic and revenue through SEO
Understand and communicate the major factors influencing organic search crawling, indexing and keyword ranking.
Prioritize all SEO opportunities based on greatest impact to traffic
Hands-on optimization work, including page construction, site architecture, content, keyword research and SEO copywriting
Research, identify and establish link partners for our sites and for internal linking strategies
Analyze the opportunity for growing Channels’ organic traffic in Google, Yahoo and MSN.
Continually monitoring new advancements in SEO and evaluating their risk/reward if implemented on company site, given current traffic patterns.
Track and analyze site performance.


Pay Per Click Advertising

Create and manage PPC campaigns across multiple search engines.
Expand campaigns and increase effectiveness by continually monitoring, testing and updating ad placements as necessary.
Analyze trends, along with qualitative and quantitative data to recommend campaign changes and updates.
Build, organize and refine keyword lists.


Candidates must have 3+ years of SEO / paid search experience mandatory. Additional qualifications include:

Hands-on experience with search engine optimization projects and a proven track record of bringing in cost-effective results from the major search engines.
Experience with SEO keyword research, development and implementation
Comprehensive knowledge of the primary search engines, search engine algorithms and ranking strategies
Experience maintaining and optimizing large dynamically generated e-commerce sites
Experience developing and implementing link partnership exchanges
Understand and create copy optimized for search engines
Proficiency in SEO reporting and analytical tools
Experience with Pay per click and pay for placement techniques (AdWords & Overture)
Manage Marketing/Ad Budgets - determine allocations for each Engine/Campaign
Analyze Reports on ad campaign performance and ROI effectiveness
Motivated to research and keep up with ever-changing Search Engine standards
Direct Contacts with the Search Engines a plus
