Hi,
I am looking to embark upon a massive link building strategy whereby I maximise the stakehoder contact points within my business. IE. Provide an incentive for all relevant and beneficial connections to my business to link to my site. This will include wholesale suppliers, intermediary agencies key staff members, shareholders and possibly one day, even customers (via an external review site).
However, in order to gain sign off from relevant budget holders, I need to be able to prove that this work will have a beneficial effect on our bottom line. I currently track all paid and unpaid referrals to my site via a site analytics package. Now if I want to include the tracking in the link, can I use an onclick JS command in the link a href, simply to drop off the tracking, or will I be penalised? Does anyone have any conclusive proof?
Please excuse me if this question has been asked multiple times previously.
