Hello Everbody,

I am working on SEO campaign for few of my client sites, on an average out of total 10 clients 4-5 of them are ranking quite well with few back links and basic SEO process. But for all others I am lagging behind, whenever I analyze I get confusion with respect to link building we undertake. Many top ranking site do not have any links page and they have few back links, but they are ranking.

How the link building campaign should be? Earlier we use to follow the following points for link building, will the same trend follow now or do you people suggest some different approach.

1) Setting up links page for our site with 10-15 related categories
2) Welcome note on links index page.
3) Searching for related links adding them in our suitable category and sending them request.
4) Waiting for their response, once they add changing the status on our page.

This is what we are doing ealier, to be honest I am still following the same trend. I am very confused as to what is the best way to build links in the present trend?

Any expert comment?

That appears to be your problem. It sounds like you're still trying to trade links. Stop trading links and start going after one-way links.

Nothing wrong with trading links, I'd just suggest the method you are using is not effective. There is rarely anything valuable about a bunch of link pages. If you're going to swap, find something worth swapping other than a link buried on a link page that is there only to exchange links. There are hundreds of ways to get good links, don't do just one of them.

Swapping links with any sites is not adviceable one unless until they are related yr sites. Better optimize all the pages of the sites and create as much as anchor links with key words. Keep yr internal navigational system smooth. If the number of pages or less try making site map in HTML. Try getting links from relevant sites. Give image files keyword related names instead of generic words. Discussing more with experts in this forum will help u to archieve the desired result.Wish u all success.

Thanks for all your comment, I was more or less convinced about my plans which I wanted to take up. See what I feel as per discussion and analysis I had taken up during these times is:

1) Optimize each page with unique meta tags
2) Interlink all the pages with anchor text from as many pages.
3) Submit sites to all the free directory listings and other oneway link providers
4) Do not create any link pages with simply bunch of links.

Ok it is done now, what do you feel for existing sites. See for all our sites I have links pages do you suggest me to ignore the same and keep the pages as it is and work on getting one way links or delete all the existing links pages and work fresh to get quality links.

Any expert comment.

For other sites if the link pages has bunch of unwanted links which are not related to yr site, it may spoil the reputation of the sites. Better remove the useless links keeping the relevant one. First submit to oneway free sites which has good PR which are relevent to yr site only. Then submit to major dirs if the desired category is available there.

Try to write some good articles and post the same. In yr sites if u use generic words like "submit here" or "click here" instead of using this use this as anchor text related to the destination file. If u r going to optimize all the pages, make title, header, meta keywords & meta descriptions using main keywords.

Never over use keywords in site content. Try to use key words phrases. Hope this helps u.
