This question is simply answered by the particular application and budgeting allowance or constriction for that matter.
How much is your time really worth? For that fact, how much is your money worth to you? Is anyone going to provide the quality of work you are expecting?
It all depends on what you expect to get for your dollar. Remember two good rules of thumb to live by:
1. If it sounds to good to be true, it usually is, and
2. Don't ever expect to get something for nothing.
The way to perceive the option of outsourcing is to analyze what you expect to get for the money you plan to spend. More often than not, the ideal of what you expect to get for what you have to spend doesn't usually fit into what the outsourcer plans to give you for the price you are willing to pay.
The only way to get around that is to get some comparisons and always do research regarding the services they are claiming to provide. These forums are great too!
