I’m SEO and Yahoo! Has me disturbed.

I have a Spanish web page to position, with approximately 2.000 pages, Yahoo indexed around 150 pages and has around 136 links at the moment.

I send the urllist.txt to Yahoo three months ago, because even after visiting the new page (change in design and contents) it didn’t return any of the new pages, but the index. Until two months ago it still showed 3.200 results of pages of the site, being 3.199 old pages, as I already commented, pages that don’t exist since March.

I also looked that my web pages appears on http://add.yahoo.com/fast/help/us/ysearch/cgi_urlstatus, and it does. This tells me it hasn’t been banned.

Also, 80% of my keywords are in the top 20 in Google and MSN.

I don’t know if I can put the url in this forum so you can see it and tell me why Yahoo hates my page!

If anybody can think of anything else I can do, I would greatly appreciate a comment.

Do the old pages now return 404 (file not found) ?

If so, not much more you can do. But wait.

As you may have seen in nearby threads, I have been exasperated by Yahoo of late.

I have discovered that Yahoo did an algo change around 25 August. I can't say whether the algo itself is better or worse - but i can say that for me at least it has meant that pages, old and new are all over the place, at times not even in the index, then back again and out again ...!

Chaos really. I will give it another week or so to see if I still have these problems.

I would have used a 301 redirect on the old pages to the new ones if they were named different - that always helps.
