Hi all

I would like to post this thread to ask for opinions on this subject.

If your customer asked you for first place results in 2 languages, would you do a multilingual one website?, one exclsuive website for each language? , would you link them or not?. Do you risk content duplication?. Will pages with similar title and structure and content but different language give feet to content duplication and thus one of them two be banned?

On a second basis: will changing ( once done )any of the above, eg: fusion two similar content webpages with different languages, separating them..have good or bad side effects?

I ask readers to put forward their opinions based upon personal experience or knowledge. I find this an interesting subject that has not arisen a lot in the forums and i think its a good idea to bring some light to it.. :p

Thank you and we expect your comments. :D

Hi,
I'm pretty sure that if you search the forum there are a number of answers that can help you in your efforts, nonetheless here is my point of view:

You can easliy set up more languages in one web site - I do this all the time and it works well - there are no duplicate content issues, my advice is focus on setting up your web site and have a proper translatinig done - I blog on this from time to time.

Language is not an issue, but your site architecutre is so be careful in setting it up properly (make it Search Engine Friendly)

Hope this helps,

Sante

Having your page available on particular language will ensure maximum potential coz search engines work in native languages focus on the habits and needs of their users, I dont thing seperating both pages in different language is going to create any bad effect.

I regert i do not agree with you, please porve me wrong, have 2 pages with similar content different language, everyhting else is the same, and 3 search engines just show up one of the two pages, never both, when i do a search with a term that is the head tittle of one of the pages. In my case is say the robots decided there was content duplication.
