A site has been banned in yahoo. They are following all Yahoo guidelines. The only thing noticed is that they are sharing rotating IP's with over 40 sites. The only conclusion I can come up with is that one of the sites it is sharing with got banned (which some are very sketchy sites) and it is effecting this site. A random sampling of other sites using those IP's do not appear to be banned, though I would bet one or two of the 40+ are.
The hosting company said it can't be them because they use Akamai?

Is there something I am missing here?

I would say that it's not enough information to isolate the cause. You say:

- they are sharing rotating IP's with over 40 sites.
- A random sampling of other sites using those IP's do not appear to be banned

and "The only conclusion I can come up with is that one of the sites it is sharing with got banned (which some are very sketchy sites) and it is effecting this site."

Since some sites on the rotating IPs haven't been banned, and I don't know that you've found any that have, I wouldn't conclude that the rotating IPs are causing the problem.

That said, I'm not crazy about the idea of rotating IPs. At all.
