Hi there,
I heard about (adding dynamically-inserted keywords into) my PPC titles & the content of the ads.
Can someone tell me step-by-step how to do it?
Thank you
Michelle

Perfume insertion? {Perfume: Keywords}
I have never heard of scenting - inserting keywords is popular....

And don't forget this article (http://www.thestandard.com/article/0,1902,23654,00.html). I wanted to do a NY subway scent for one section of my sites but the company folded before they could ramp up production of the iSmell machines.

Hey, that's why I just fired my PPC guy. What can I do.
I now know it's called a keyword insertion tool.
So, come on :) how do I do it & do you have the instructions just for the title, or for the entire ad?
Can anyone recommend a really good PPC Manager who is reasonably priced?
Thanks
Michelle

you do it this way:
{Keyword: Back Up Copy}
This will do it... but since the keyword may be a phrase you have the back up copy so if it exceeds character count you are not left with a blank line.
If the adgroup is all small words you can do it like this too:
{Keyword} More Copy to Fill Line

Also important to note that if you want the words to show with initial caps, you have to use {KeyWord:Key Phrase} and not {Keyword:Key Phrase}. The W in KeyWord has to be capitalized.

and don't forget to make sure your back up copy doesn't exceed the character limit either. :p

Hi Michelle
Google offers a .pdf work book which is a great place to start learning. Here's how it explains the dynamic keyword insertion tool:
Google offers “dynamic keyword insertion,” a tool which automatically inserts your keywords into your ads. Because it enables you to insert keywords into each creative, they are even more relevant to every search. And by featuring each keyword in boldface, the insertion tool highlights the search term in the ad.
When creating ads, type your keyword phrases within curly brackets.
Taking Ad Group #1 as an example, the keywords are:
scottish food, scottish fare, scottish cuisine, food of scotland, celtic food, celtic fare, celtic cuisine, gaelic food, gaelic fare, gaelic cuisine, highland food, highland fare, caledonian cuisine, caledonian food, caledonian cuisine
All of these terms share the basic concept of “Scottish cuisine,” so that’s what the ad copy should reference. Dynamic keyword insertion is especially helpful for managing large groups of keywords and variations of ads.
Here’s how dynamic keyword insertion would treat these keyword terms:
{Keyword: Caledonian food}
Wide Selection of Dishes.
Fast Delivery – Order Now!
{KeyWord: Gaelic Fare}
Gourmet Dishes – Fast Delivery.
Fresh & Authentic. Order Now.
Using this tool, consider what you’d like to capitalize (or not) in individual ads. Using the keyword corporate catering, for example, you can vary the keywords with lower case, single initial cap, or multiple initial caps:
{Keyword: corporate catering} will appear as corporate catering
{Keyword: Corporate catering} will appear as Corporate catering
{KeyWord: Corporate Catering} will appear as Corporate Catering
Inserted keywords must adhere to 25 characters or fewer on Line 1 of the ad. For keywords longer than 25 characters (traditional caledonian cuisine), enter a shorter default keyword {caledonian cuisine}, which is what the ad will show.
When using dynamic keyword insertion, make sure your inserted keywords conform to editorial guidelines. The most common errors are misspelling, the use of superlatives, and introducing keywords that are too long.

Hope that helps

I've not used this feature for quite some time. But, back when I did, it also worked in the body copy and in the destination URL. That is, if you can ever figure out a use for it in a destination URL.
I mean..
http://www.yourdomain.com/{keyword:backup}.html
is not exactly a transparent construct ;-)

Actually you would use it to isolate the keyword in a large adgroup....
