View Full Version : Do You Find 'SPAMMY' Looking Sites Interesting to Look At?

We all come across them now and then, although we don't always like to admit it (at least I don't for some reason), we see sites that's sole purpose is to rank well to sell ads. Is that wrong? I am not one to judge, and I don't want this topic to go the path of is it right or wrong (we have enough of those). However, I want to know if you like reviewing sites that rank well but if someone over at Google saw the result they would be embarrassed.

Ok time to clarify.

Do you find it interesting to look at sites that rank well in the various engines, but in your opinion, should not rank well because, deep down in side, you know that the search engines would not like to have that result displayed?

I love to find spammy sites! I have a bookmarks folder called "Quality Black Hat Sites" that I collect them in. Some women collect chickens, some collect depression glass, I collect clutter, coffee mugs, cookbooks and SEO spam.

The ones you can spot aren't half as facinating as the ones you cant...

nb. no, im not that good, but they get pointed out to me from time to time ;)

I don't really care unless the spammy pages are there competing against my clients. That is the only time I'll investigate them and possibly report them. Otherwise, there is not enough time in the day to look at all the spam that exists in search engines.

I voted YES, but would've liked to vote "sometimes". It's like Marcia and Nick hinted at -- when it's done well, it can be very interesting. But when it's not, I'm the quickest click in the West. :)

pleeker, good idea. I added "sometimes" to the poll and moved your Yes vote to a sometimes vote.
