I am starting an experimental meta search engine, and obviously, I want to include google's results in the meta results.

I have already included several search engines in my lookups. Would it be illegal to make this meta search publicly available? Or do I have to get google's (and the other search engines used) permission? I'm currently using the php curl function to gather the meta results and compile them for display.

Anyone know what the rules are for meta search in this regard?

No.

You're probably going to have to contact Google directly. Others have done it... www.dogpile.com for instance.
