Should I change my blog URL?

Hi, I have very very good rankings in Yahoo, but not google. I am continuing writing an old blog about real madrid soccer team. My current address is markellison.blogspot.com. Should I change this to realmadridsoccer.blogspot.com? I dont want to lose my current good ranking in yahoo!? Thanks all

I suppose it really depends on how many backlinks you have already and how easily you can get them all to change. You can't 301 with Blogger I think. Plus, if you're going to change your url, just go ahead and buy your own domain, you can use Blogger with your own domain and then you're not platform dependent. But, I think you'd certainly lose your positions in the short-term at the very least.

Ehh, I have 11 backlinks... There isn't much available as far as my own domain goes... And you are right about no 301 on blogger.. For now, its just for fun on my spare time. Thanks for the input..

Yea, 11 backlinks isn't a big deal, I hope you can get those all changed. If you want a good keyword domain, real-madrid-soccer-team.com is available.

That is a really good one actually, but still, I am not sure how to run my blog outside of blogger... Its probably not that hard, but still, I dont know how to do it.. Will look into this, as it is something I should probably learn.. Thanks again!

It's easy enough. Two steps to it.

1. Get a hosting account.
2. Enter the ftp information into Blogger.

After that, you just blog as you would normally. :)
