Hello everybody, here is my question:
I have a big portal and all my pages are indexed in Google. Last week we launched the Olympics section but I think that I dont get any traffic from search engines, how do I know if that specific page is listed on Google or not ?
Thank you for your help.

You can search on a string of unique text from the page, in quotes, on your domain, e.g., site:www.domain.com "the text from my page".
If you have the Google toolbar installed, you can also navigate to the page and then click the arrow next to the "i" button and select "cached snapshot of page." If Google has the page cached, it's indexed. If they don't, that doesn't necessarily mean that it's not indexed, however. The page is only a week old, so unless you get spidered a lot and you've got a link from your home page to the new area, it's quite possible they've either not found it, or they've found it but haven't cached it yet.

Thank you very much. I did the query string and I got it, the page is index, nice tip.
I used to take only the cache as a reference.
Thank you again

Having produced a lot of Olympics related coverage for SLC 2002, unfortunately, I have to say you've missed the boat a bit by not launching it within a months advance of the games to give Google time to weight it appropriately & get links to it. unless your portal is really popular and the section is prominently featued on the home page, getting it a lot of traffic that way - but the after effect could be somewhat lasting - if you get working on the links now.
Try submitting the section to Y! News/Full Coverage in the Olympics area, other directories, etc.
