With all the recent hoopla about Google and Big Daddy lately, I wanted to see how Google would stack up against Yahoo and MSN regarding a basic search for Direct Lender Home Loans.
Why this search? Because I need a home loan and I want to deal with a direct lender, not a broker or some marketing company promising me X amount of the lowest rate quotes...
Yahoo returned the most relevant results BY FAR. In fact, 7 or so of the first 10 results were right on target! Way to go Yahoo!

MSN, poor MSN search...horrible, well except if you happen to have purchased a domain with directhomeloans, or a derivation there of, in the url. But it is not all bad from MSN search, as there were more relevant results for the search term than Google offered!

Google, what a joke, well EXCEPT THEIR PPC RESULTS WERE RIGHT ON TARGET. The organic results turned up a couple of governement sites, #1 being a page for student loans, right on target there Google, followed by 1 or 2 relevant results, then a couple of results that offer no value to me at all. Well, at least the PPC was on target...go figure.

So, what does this mean?
1. Does the .gov .org theory hold water with the new results from BD update?
2. Does the Google advertising PPC theory and SERPS make sense?
3. Are Google's SERPS becoming less relevant?
4. Is Yahoo, or MSN for that matter, really becoming better than Goggle?
Google get a clue, listen to the webmasters, view your SERPS, and take the stick out of your *@#.
