Being new to seo this may sound like a stupid question.
But should you keep the keywords and meta tags the same for your main site and the one your iframe links too.
Or is the content more important?
Like I said I'm new so don't laugh to hard.

Content from Iframes do not count toward your main page.
The standard SEO practice is to not use frames.

However pagerank might be passed along to the Iframed page
can anyone verify this?

If that is true than your Header tags and Content would matter to the Iframed page

Don't worry tjay, we all used to have our first time questions too.

Surely there are ways to have pages ranked even if they are using frames, but why use one if you can avoid it. Your meta tags should vary from one page to another. I believe your content in your iframes will be related to the main page so meta information is supposed to be related as well.

I know search engines are not fond of frames.
But iframes are a different animal.

The main purpose of iframes, as far as i can see, is to offer or
present your visitor with something (like a newsletter form)
and still keep them on your site.
I guess sort of like a target=new page in a hyperlink.

They also have the advantage of alot of graphics or content
with less loading time.(I think?)

I just wasn't sure if they were spider friendly or not.
