Hey all. I am considering listing a site in the Yahoo directory but am curious about one factor. When we added another one of our sites to the Y directory last year we actually experienced a period (a couple of months) where our rankings actually decreased in Y. Not sure if this is related or not. At the end of that two month period we jumped to #1. I'm curious whether or not others have experienced this temporary drop in Y ranking when being added to the Y directory?

The only thing you will experience is that Yahoo will show the title and description that you have in the directory and not the title and the description you have defined in the meta Tags ... but ranking doesnot fluctuate just because you got your self listed in the Yahoo directory ...
I've never put a listing in the directory like DOXA, but I have noticed severe ranking drops after buying the express inclusion AND always while my PPC is running and for a period of time after it stops.
The express inclusion I tried, because even though my site was established and showing up quite well at Yahoo, for some reason it was from an organic search feed from another engine. The site was not actually listed in Yahoo so I paid to have them sopider it... Biggest mistake I've made, (short of quitting high school and putting money into my sponsored search account).
