I am not a pro so be kind.
I take care of a website for a small municipality in VT, total low budget of course. We are posting minutes of important meetings on the site for public information purposes and they are being posted as pdfs. I have internal search script set up to search the whole site and then to search specific folders and it relies on Google indexing the pages.
Everything was working fine as Google was indexing everything in a timely manner but now, not only have they stopped indexing the pdfs they also dropped all they had previously indexed which was at least 3 months of minutes.
Anyone have a clue why????
Also, if someone has a suggestion for a free internal search engine that does not use Google and is low key in terms of ads such information would be appreciated since I think Google is probably a lost cause. Just would like to avoid noticible ads on a Town site.
Thanks

Hi,
It is just on this site for the Town that there are problems Townshend VT (http://www.townshendvt.net)
The minutes of the Select Board, our governing body, go up about every two weeks as pdfs. The internal search is keyed to Google indexing our pages (including the pdfs).
As of last month all of the meeting minutes through March were indexed by Google so if I did "site:www.townshendvt.net" everything was listed. Now, not only are the newer minutes not being indexed, all the old ones are gone, hence my internal search no longer works. If you do "site etc" all you get are the pages in done in HTML.
The internal search is important because now, instead of going through reams of paper records to see when so and so did this and that to whom a quick search would provide the answer.
Thanks for taking your time to reply.
