In view of MCs' post on the link quality/indexing thing, and the pronounced wailing for lost pages from a particular forum much frequented by AS publishers, could having AS bring a more rigorous "examination" of a sites' linkage pattern?

Personally, I feel the main thing with Matt Cutts is, he works for Google and he's full of crap.

Haha, I realize that was harsher than I normally sound. I'm still sad about 197,000 pages missing from a hyphenated domain. I'm sure Matt is doing his best to work on it this weekend :)

But can't we be honest that Matt works for Google and just might have a specific agenda he promotes? I'm not saying he does. I'm merely suggesting that we, a bold and brave community of web marketers, considers the possibility that some of his information is just not accurate.

I've done a lot of testing lately and come up with some conclusive evidence that some of what we've been hearing from him lately might not be completely true.

surely you can't be saying that Matt Cutts from google post's disinformation on forums, I can't believe that you must be getting mixed up with another guy

PS..its been going on for years but keep it to yourself :)

With so many AS sites hit, either the majority are fairly clueless link spammers or displaying AS brings a different evaluation of a sites' linkage pattern.

On the MC thing we should know soon enough, claiming that the post BD crawling/indexing is working perfectly according to the new parameters and that most remaining indexing problems are down to dubious linkage, is giving one prominent hostage to fortune.

I'm sure we all realize what a huge quantity of swill is being pumped out for the purpose of running Adsense. Swill is swill, Adsense or not, but I'd think more people would be getting angry and hitting the "Ads by Goooooogle" link to whine when they waste their time landing on a lot of those pages.

I don't think it hurts "normal" sites that have some decent value for users.

claiming that the post BD crawling/indexing is working perfectly

hmm I bet Matt won't admit the blunder of removing millions of pages from good clean sites and the scrapers site reappearing in the serps again

there are lots of comments over at a forum frequented by AS publishers in the last few weeks regarding this "minor" hiccup

there is no doubt that they have a lot of info on what sites you have adsense on and it could easily be used to remove large networks of sites if they so required, these made for adsense sites do disapear from the google index from time to time but the publishers never have their account terminated, google would loose too much money
