I got a website at http://www.---.com . I submited my site to several search engines. My site only gets an average of 50-100 hits a day from search engines. What I need to do to get more hits from search engines?

Develop more content so search engines can capture as much information as possible.

If you submit your site to search engines, I bet many of those are not popular enough to generate traffic to your site.

Google, MSN, Yahoo!, Ask corner most of search engine traffic referals so you have to ensure your pages are visible to those SEs before coming down to those numerous sites that offer negligible help, if any.

50-100 hits per day. that sounds okay to me. are you running ad sense?

Don't get me wrong but that's hits which means any page element such as images, text, etc...

Maybe you mean unique visitors or page views, now that's better. But hits? You can have one person looking at one page in your site a day and generate 50-100 hits.

yeah, yeah, you're right. hits. i didn't think people still make comparisions with hits anymore. no worries. my bad.
