Someone told me: "With 4000+ backlinks you can rank for ANY keyword using a Blog..."

I saw many Blogs by myself as well with few thousand back links rank 1st page for "highly competitive" keywords (often using re-directs!) like: buy viagra, ringtones, casino online, etc.

Blogs are no different. It's not the script that runs on the website, but the page rank of the website that gives importance to backlinks.
