Has anyone used bid management for adwords that can handle thousands of keywords? I heard you can build your own using their API, has anyone successfully done that? Otherwise, are there existing 3rd party tools that people swear by?

The MakeMeTop guys are well known and respected in the space.
I have used KeywordMax and they work for campaigns of thousands of keywords.
