View Full Version : Life Insurance #1 Keyword Where did the description come from?

Hi everybody,

The #1 website on Google for life insurance is Metlife.com but it is weird because the title and description that Google displayed are not on the actual metlife.com website, also when I tried to cached the page, I got an error from Google (404 not found)

This is what Google display

This is the actual metlife.com meta tags

<meta name="category" content="MetLife Home">

Also none of the description content is on the metlife website: Since 1863.... etc.

Hi DJMorri,

Google gets its description snippet from a number of places.

It can be 'keywords in context' on the page; or the 'meta description' or the DMOZ editor's description (used in the Google Directory)

In this case - its DMOZ - look in the Google Directory....
