Uhmm... Stupid Question but I am having a really hard-hard time deciding what keywords to target. My Forums are a General marketing Forums [ Mainly focusing on other techniques rather than SEO ... Hehe. You must have guessed that from my question ;) ].
[Data acc to DigitalPoint Tools ]
The Keyword - > marketing 3,858.0 /day
internet marketing 722.0 /day
And a really Really Absurd amount of comptition. So no need to compete on this tem as of now...
The other keyword ->
forums marketing 18.0 /day
forums marketing uk 16.0 /day
internet marketing forums 10.0 /day
Gee..... Isn't it too less ?
Now the question is -> Can Someone suggest the keywords that I should Fight for?

I would think that forums get most of their search engine traffic from very specific keyword searches. Based on a forum having thousands of topics, it can rank well for each topic.

Hmm. But each Forum Cannot be SEOed Individually [ Or am I wrong ? ]. What do you suggest of Doorway pages for each forum ?

Of course each forum can be targeting an individual keyword phrase. Which ones you should target will come over time. Just set up a forum for each area and the traffic will come.

people naturally search in similar methods to how they ask questions in forums. the threads fall in line over time with more and more random search queries.
I would bid for webmaster forums, internet forums, and stuff like that...

I think you will find that once a forum becomes quite large and a lot of links are pointing to it, its content will allow it to show well for a number of keywords and phrases. I am always seeing many of the forums I am aware of showing up in search queries just because of the content itself and of course the reputation of the forum.

If you are searching for keywords to begin your campaign, take a look at the other forums in your field and see what they are doing. And yes, you can certainly optimize each forum for specific keyword phrases.
