SEO Book is a member here, so please be gentle. :)

I am currently reviewing the book but I am sure I will only have nice things to say.

I haven't had a chance to ready the book. Maybe I will. In any case I welcome any qualified writing on SEO/SEM and from the member, seobook's postings in this forum he definately seems more than qualified to write such a book.

Good luck with the sales! :)

If you want I could give you a free copy. From the posts you write and what I know of you I think I should be reading a book or yours though :)

Friday was my best day ever. I only launched for sale in February. Its cool watching it grow organically from nothing at all to something that can support more than the cost of living in less than 6 months. It pays the cost of living and for the finer things in life - peanut butter and more links ;)

I read awall's book and I recommend it. It is written clearly and cuts through the noise, rumors, jargon and BS to get most webmasters up and running with SEO and/or PPC.

Good lists of resources too.

Plus any SEO Book that ranks # 1 in Google for SEO Book (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&c2coff=1&q=seo+book&btnG=Search) is a winner in my eyes (and Google's). See Aaron, Google is endorsing your book. :)

Hey Aaron (seobook), did you figure out Nick W's username and password and use this thread for self promotion?

:D . . . just kidding!

I haven't finished reading it, but Aaron has very good and organized information about SEO from what I've seen so far. Any reader will be pleased with this literature and should be able to go right into design and excecution phases with no problem. He can teach you how to make $1 million in 30 days (........if you are very very creative........).

Great job Aaron!

Aaron,
you should start getting into the habit of linking to the people saying good about you - create a section called "I really don't deserve this but..."

and then list people who are boosting you - it floats all boats, and people are happy to stand by their commendations - true story

I am not one for autographing anything myself ( I would feel that was weird )

I do have an autographed Mickey Mantle photo though.

my roomie and I went to see Noam Chomskey and Noam signed his book.

Have you considered making the option of "download sample" out of a chapter, or from the book's index? PDF?

Potential buyers could get a first-hand feel.
(Believe there is a way to prevent saving to a local drive, if you want)

I will eventually add that ps stuff to the sales letter page. I have for a while offered the PPC section for free though as a sample

Does the book has an option of live update. :)

How a book could be useful for seo when the algo for SEs are changing every other day. I think some ezine updates for say an year from seobook would add more value for the book.

I am getting povocations to buy the book. :)

I send an email to the subscriber list when I make updates.

I think most effective SEO does not necissarily chase the algorithms and if you understand the basic driving concepts and do a good job with those you do not necissarily need to to chase algorithms.

Very few algorithmic changes are so significant that they change the entire approach to SEO.

I read Aaron's original "draft" of this book many moons ago when he was just starting to put it together (almost a year ago now). He offered it up for free for the WPW membership back then, and it was very very good -- covered a lot of ground and answered quite a few questions that I had at that time. I have been using that knowledge every day since. I can only imagine what it is like today.

I have basicly been reading everything he has written since and without even reading his latest version, I would highly recommend it because he is without a doubt someone who has a very clear and straight-forward view of SEO. This view is no-bull with a little sarcastic wit thrown in that will make it a joy to read for anybody who picks it up.

Just wanted to say, I finally got around to reading Aaron's book.

I feel it is definitely worth purchasing this book if you want to learn SEO. The price is extremely competitive and the extra bonuses make this purchase a no brainer.

oh, there are some typos and grammatical errors, but I understand that Aaron frequently adds/edits/deletes information from the book (so typos are expected).

Good work.

I have just finished it and will be using a couple of good tips I came away with... have recently read a few books in our industry and this is by far the best.

Plus it is far more up-to-date and has better current examples etc. to help out ... printed take so long half the info is stale by time it hits the stands!

I am getting much better at that, but I still got a ways to go. I used some writing software on some of my stuff and see that I tend to have a few recurring errors...using stuff like passive verbs. I am much better than I was a short while ago, but as with anything it just takes time.

Prelim is that it is very good. Aaron's analogies give the book more depth and make it actually fun to read. He inspires creativity and gets your mind working in a totally different direction.

Looking forward to reading the rest of it for sure. Will report back later.

The best SEO book on the planet, and greatly under-priced.

I haven't read the book in question, but I did read Planet Ocean's Unfair Advantage Book (http://www.searchenginehelp.com/), and have to say they really keep on top of the Search industry. The book is updated monthly with the latest happenings and a newsletter goes out to subscribers so you can just see the changes. In a rapidly changing search engine space, it's nice to have a resource that is on top of things.

Have you read Aaron's SEO book? I think he updates that thing almost daily. He's one of the few people that keeps up to date on all the search engine news. I usually end up getting my SE news from Aaron's blog. :)

Aaron's book is the best, IMHO, because it addresses link building a lot more than many other books and ebooks.

And, yes, most SEO books are quickly outdated, especially the paper ones. I remember reading "Getting Hits", (by Don Sellers) and thinking "Whaa?". Not one mention of Google.

Dodger

I actually have seen portions of the Planet Ocean ebook (given to me as a gift ... honest!) back in October of last year. It has been around since then.

It is actually pretty good, but it is also pretty bad (as in black) in some places. They use the "don't get caught doing this" type of thing, complete with examples. ;)

As I remember, it was up-to-date and has monthly password changes for the book.

rustybrick

One thing about this book, it gives examples from Aaron's personal experience. Most SEOs do not publish examples in such a fashion. It is definitely unique, IMO.

Yep (Go Irish!), though I'm currently studying in Shanghai.

Seriously, this book is saving my butt in my current link building campaign. I was tearing my hair out looking for other legitimate places from which to get links. I offered him 4x the price for his directory list, when he graciously and honestly told me it was included in his book :)

It is amazing how this industry is always teaching you new things. I learnt alot from the book.... enough to make sure I spend a certain amount of time each week doing advanced research to stay up with the curve.

Right now I am looking at clustering and the methodology of recognizing similiar pages... and though I started from one perspective - I have learned a whole lot more about common architecture and what the avregae user expects to find in a web page.
