20 was a good start but does anybody know why there's not more or if there may be unlimited in the future? Unlimited would be nice :)

I don't think they'll go more than 20 for some time. You can only manually review so much data per day, and I'm sure the Adsense employees already have too much on their plate as it is.

Not following, Adsense employees manually reviewing data? I have no idea what you're talking about. I want more channels so i can see what pages are doing what. I have a lot more then 20 active pages.

You're supposed to group your pages under a channel ;) instead of a one-to-one between pages and channels. :)

I know, but i like unlimited so i can drill down what each page is doing not just what a group of pages is doing. Example: I can have a channel assigned to a group of 10 pages and it can be 1 page bringing in all the money. Knowing this information would help me make some changes. Unlimited channels would be a nice option and is a good thing ;) I can see them at least upping it this year.

There's a 2 day delay in reporting channel data because they manually review the data. That's what I've heard.

Funny have been touting AdSense since August and apart from helping a few people have done nothing myself...
Guess it's time to through a few pages in the water and get some insight... this way when I do the buying on the other side I will have greater insight...
Okay now let's see??? Structured Settlement... heard that was a $100 word...

there is software which will track your clicks by page in a MySQL database for a one time $100 fee.
it does not have the associated click prices, but it tells you what ads were clicked each day how many times and on what page

the number of channels should be proportional to the size and traffic of an account. 20 is enough for managing small to medium-sized sites, but not enough for accounts that manage multiple large sites.

I would be interested in knowing about this. Do you have a name?
Actually, I can pretty much figure out how it is done (actually two ways, but the second would be against the TOS).
===============
Originally, Channels was set up to consolidate multiple accounts, or at least one of the reasons. I had three of them and got the dreaded consolidate them or lose them letter with the April 15th deadline. So I did.
I started with three channels, one per site. Added two more (additional sites). One site, I wanted to track three categories of products...so that is two additional channels. Now I am up to 7 channels all in a couple of months time.
I agree, the channels need to be boosted -- or better yet, have the reports broken out by site. This they CAN do because they know what site the click is coming from in the first place. This would be ideal, especially if you create just one channel (or filter category) that can be reported across multiple sites.
I think Google originally limited the channels so you could not lay one down on a page by page basis though. It would give you a more accurate accounting of what people are paying for in terms of click rates -- which line is worth more. You would dump the low end and build the high end. But that is easy enough to figure out anyway throught other means -- open up the channels man!

What about sites with forums with thousands of pages? I have a small forum at my Elsmar site but it does have thousands of pages.
What I think would be better than channels is if their report was changed to where it would give an itemized list of URLs clicked from. If you had 238 click throughs, an option for an itemized list of what specific clicks were from what specific page. Makes more sense to me than all the hassle of making different 'channels'.

That would be nice, but I doubt that will ever happen. It would give you a pretty darn good idea on what ads are paying out for those pages.

I have a hard time understanding the need for the secrecy. But I guess a discussion of Google's TOS would be a thread unto its self.

Hey I had suggested that for the PPC stuff last year... give us a phone bill... with the person's info.

I just got the e-mail. I'll have to read it closely and see what is says. The 1 April 'changes' reduced my revenues close to 45% so announcements don't always thrill me.
