Image search optimization

I'm interested in improving the rankings of a graphic design site in image searches. We rank well in web search results for a number of our keywords, but we're no-where in the image search results. We're looking at keywords like "restaurant logo design" etc., where we'd want examples of our work on the first page of image searches. Any advice appreciated.

Did you look at the file names for your images? If they are called image101.jpg it might be a good idea to rename them great-image-design.jpg or something like that.

The following factors might be taken into account (In no particular order):

1. Filename
2. Image URL (folder names etc.)
3. Alt text
4. Surrounding text
5. URL title attribute (if it's a linked image)
6. Link destination (if it's a linked image)
7. names, alt text etc. of other images on the same page

I'm hoping that someone out there has already experimented with this.
