Global Header in CFM Alternative

I have begun working on a very large site, 1000+ pages, and they use a global header that contains their meta data and thus do not have unique meta data on each page. Currently the only way to change is either globally (does no good) or manually (impossible as it affects the nav system and other items and future changes would be too labor intensive). I have in the past had success placing ASP or PHP tags in the meta data and pulling from the database to allow some degree of uniqueness to the tags. They use CFM on the site and I am not very familiar with CFM. Does anyone have a suggestion on a work around or tags that can be used to pull from the database into the title tag, etc?
